Outreach Nights

Please don't forget the importance of the Outreach Night. Not only is it a wonderful time of celebration for the couples in your group, but it is also an important time of vision and testimony sharing for others to hear.

The reason that couples can only sign up for Married for Life groups at outreaches is that we want them to know what the group is about before they commit. We want them to know that it is a group centered on Jesus Christ, that this is a Spirit-filled ministry and that we are going to be teaching about salvation and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We want them to know there will be homework and that they are expected to attend weekly. If they cannot commit to those things, then we want the slot in the group to be available to a couple who can.
We have noted an increase in group dropouts in the U.S. in the past few months and in checking with leaders we have learned that many couples were given registration forms without attending an outreach night. Couples who have not been informed before a group are often surprised by the course content.
We recognize that some times you will meet with a couple on an individual basis if they were not able to attend the outreach. It is important, though,  that whether in a group or individually, each couple knows what the group is about and what to expect as a member of that group.
Prayer and Fasting
Don't forget that the second Tuesday of every month is our international day of prayer and fasting. U of F leaders all over the world join together in seeking the Lord on this day for the families of the nations.
Here in the home office we each take an hour to pray so that prayer will be going forth throughout the day. Then we get together an hour before closing time to share what we have heard from the Lord. It is a wonderful confirmation to see how what we have each heard is part of what the Lord is saying to us all. It is like a puzzle and we each have a piece. As we put them all together, we see a picture much richer and deeper than any of us had alone.
We encourage you to meet with other leaders on this day each month and hear from the Lord together. Not only will your prayers be multiplied, but you will receive the joy of hearing together the fullness of what God is saying.

We would also appreciate it if you would share with us here in the home office what the Lord gives you. It is always a blessing to us!

Reminder!
As you pray about reaching couples through your Married for Life groups, please don't forget that one of the most vital aspects of U of F leadership is the discipling of your Leaders in Training. Jesus always discipled as He ministered. It is essential that you not only reach marriages, but that you also reproduce your ministry in couples who can, in turn, reproduce in others.
Each time God creates an apple, He places within it the ability to reproduce itself again through its seeds. We are used to just eating the apple and are not concerned about planting the seeds. Thank heaven, though, that somewhere a farmer is planting those seeds for the fruit crop to come. Without that planting, we would soon cease to have apples to eat.
Couples who attend your groups are like those who eat the fruit. You, on the other hand, are the leaders, the farmers, who must plant for future crops. You must invest in discipling leaders so that the next group of couples will have leaders to teach them God's Word.

If your only concern is teaching your group, you are just like the consumers of the fruit. If you plant well in your LIT's, you are like the wise farmer who faithfully plants for the continuation of future crops.
